San Jac Invites community to National Night Out
Free Oct. 13 event will feature family activities, first responder demonstrations, vehicles and community vendors
Pasadena, Texas – The San Jacinto College Police Department invites families and community members to attend National Night Out at the College’s North Campus, parking lots P1a-1c, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13.
This free event will offer an afternoon of family-friendly activities while giving community members an opportunity to meet local first responders, learn more about public safety resources, and connect with organizations serving the area.
“National Night Out is about building relationships and creating opportunities for our officers and first responders to connect with the community in a relaxed, welcoming environment,” said Lt. Darrell Hollie with the San Jacinto College Police Department. “We hope families will come out, meet the people who serve their community, ask questions and enjoy everything the event has to offer.”
Activities planned for the event include a meet and greet with San Jacinto College police officers, children’s activities, vendor booths, food services, interactive demonstrations, and a high school step show.
Guests will also have the opportunity to see a variety of public safety vehicles and equipment, including tanks, emergency vehicles, SWAT and rescue equipment, and fire department equipment. Additional demonstrations will include drone technology and fire department activities.
A classic truck and car show will also be part of the event, adding another attraction for visitors of all ages.
National Night Out is held in communities across the country to encourage stronger relationships between residents, law enforcement and other first responders. The San Jacinto College event provides an opportunity for community members to engage directly with public safety professionals while enjoying an afternoon of activities and entertainment.
The event will take place from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at San Jacinto College North Campus, 5800 Uvalde Road in Houston. Activities will take place in parking lots P1a-P1c and parking is available in lots P6, P7, and P13.
